Mmmm yum a long awaited food post! I got hungry just thinking about all the good food I been eating this past month. I really need to go to the gym more often, I am trying to wake up early and go before work. Wishful thinking right? Ha I hope I can do it!
Tried this kind of posh but still pretty casual place in Fashion Island, Cafe R&D. Just kept it simple and didn't really eat a meal. Got the Mediterranean seared tuna salad. It's sushi-grade tuna, avocado, cucumber and goat cheese.
Went to 50/50 Slater Burgers. It's where you can build your own burger. I got whole wheat squaw bread, 50/50 burger (half beef half bacon), lettuce, onions, grilled pineapple, fried egg, gruyere cheese and teriyaki sauce. Needless to say I only ate half of it and packed up the rest.
The other week right before Monica left for China I got to finally meet her! We had a mutual friend and ate at Coconut Bay. Yummy Thai food!
One weekend spent time with the family and we ate at The Hat at Victoria Gardens. We're so fatty. Everyone in my family got the pastrami dip while I got the pastrami burger. Then onion rings and friends with gravy. Dipping your fried food in warm delicious gravy is the best thing ever!
Last week it was my friend's birthday and went to CA Beach Sushi. This is only the second time I went here and sat in a table. There was 11 of us, maybe more so there was no way we were fitting at the sushi bar. I am not much for rolls and being here was such a tease! Going to go get sushi again and sit at the bar. Nothing ever compares!
And last but not least ended up in Cerritos last weekend and ate at Sweetee Thai Cafe. Always heard of it and thought hey why not try it. First time trying Tom Yum Noodles too, they were a nice change to my routine Thai cuisine order.
Mostly spent money on food this year. YUM! Oh so fatty goodness! Halfed a footlong hotdog because we need some food before the sugar overload! From the chocolate covered bacon to the deep fried oreos. Loved it! Them some fresh ceviche before leaving.
Games are so expensive! $5 pretty much a game. Why oh why! Gotta have lots of luck or some skills to not put a hole in your wallet! They had such such cute toys too!
Mmm! Food food. I really do love food. Too bad my camera sucks with the poor lighting and macro is crappy right now. I don't know if something is wrong with it but it always turns out so grainy. I don't know why?
I finally got my pho, even though I kind of want more. Tried a new place and it wasn't really the hole in the wall pho I wanted. But still good. Yum eggrolls! This place was pretty fancy with a fountain in the middle of the restaurant. Cuteness!
And I must say I love Corner Bakery. Got their Tomato Basil soup with Chicken Pomodori Panini.
Went to Cajun Corner after seeing the long line for Boiling Crab an hour before closing. Still satisfying.
And sushi sushi time! Second time, same place in a week! Got the sushi chef drunk with us and he made us some pretty awesome special sushi. Loved it! Just imagine eating all this sushi times 10 because that's how I eat. Pats tummy!
Fatty fatt fatt why do I love love food so much? It's soo good! I can't help myself. I had time to myself Saturday afternoon so I got lunch at Yoshinoya. I am kind of sad my beloved childhood treat isn't that great anymore. It was always an awesome day when daddy turned left coming home from school (going to Yoshinoya) instead of going straight (to go home). But sadly, now the meat is too dry. I found a much better Japanese take out that serves it nice and juicy. But nevertheless Yoshinoya isn't half bad and affordable.
Later that night had LA dirty hot dogs (aka bacon wrapped hot dogs) from the street carts! MMMMM Technically they're not legal but DAMN OH SO GOOOD! Also had yummy taco's from a hole and the wall type place.
Sunday treated the family hot to Japanese BBQ. It was my first time and it was delicious. Even had smores for dessert! MMMM I still have a special place for my heart for my favorite Korean BBQ, I don't think anything can replace that and my cookies and cream ice cream.
I have this obsession with more and more make up. And then I change my mind and want to return things. I am trying to get the "basics" and trying not to splurge on things I wouldn't really use that often. But still I am every sale person's dream. You show me how it works and if it's good I buy it. I am such a sucker!
Went to South Coast to shop for a graduation dress and pretty much failed. Instead I got a whole bunch of make up! They were just so nice and really helpful! Urban Decay was having some event with free makeovers or something. The first make over she just put some powder, bronzer, and eyeliner on me. I wanted to always buy the 24/7 pencil but they didn't have the black one! Boo! I felt bad and bought another color anyways but of course now I am returning it. When I was leaving the mall they got me again. The girl did my whole face this time and I fell in love with the mascara she used it on. Urban Decay Skycraper Multi-benefit mascara. LOVE IT! She also sold me the Pocket Rockets but I am returning that too. Each purchase I got free XXX Shine lipgloss in Naked and Betsy Guys.
Then I went to MAC because I wanted to finally try their foundation. I got the minerlized Satinfinish in NC42, Select Cover-Up in NW35, and the Eversun blush from the Style Warrior collection. The girl that helped me was so so pretty and so nice. Must remember her, her name was Amy.
Thirdly went to Sephora and again such helpful and nice people. Got the Laura Mercier tinted moisterizer in Sand (Finally!) and Korres' face primer. I love them both make my face feel silky soft! The cashier couldn't look up my beauty insider thing so she gave me a deluxe sample of Jack Black face moisturizer.
I also went too shopping happy at Ultra and returned more than half of this! I got carried away because they had some buy 2 get 1 free promotion. I tried the Big and Sexy Hair dry shampoo and it doesn't work. I only kept one of the Chi Iron Guard but haven't used it yet. And returning the Biosilk Duo. Did keep the small Biosilk and I love it. That with my Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum = love love my hair! It silky and smells so good!
And my entries are never complete without some food. YUM Korean BBQ and tofu and Boiling Crab.
I been in a bargain shopping mood lately. Starting to get obsessed again with make-up and fashion, but of course on a budget! I love getting awesome deals for great quality! Excuse the horrible lighting in these pictures. It's too washed out! But I got lazy to redo them.
Craft tools turned into make up tools 40% off. I bought this brush cleaning jar (with sponge replacements) because of this blog and totally had to try it. I do it a little different from her, I feel like the way she did it was less deep cleaning. The jar has a label that looks like this but I took it off because it looks better that way. I use my MAC brush cleaner and I've never had my brushes so clean! The sponge has bristles on them that are so soft and takes away all the dirt. It's amazing and I loveee it! I also got the spatulas to try to be sanitary with all my creams I have so I don't keep dipping my finger in them.
My friend told me about these brushes, they're the E.L.F studio line brushes and I LOVE THEM! Especially the powder brush. I used it for my tinted moisturizer and everything buffed and blended amazingly! Each brush is only $3!! They're super soft and dense. I got them 50% haha even cheaper, even better! And got this Brightening Eye Color for free. Score!
I been MIA for awhile, no? Just been going through things and now I am slowly handling them. Anyways graduation is just around the corner! June! I am excited! I really want to do a mini-vacation that weekend somewhere, anywhere. We'll see.
Well today is my day 1 of my diet. I been procrastinating about getting healthy for far too long now. I am doing mini goals each week.
This week:
- eat breakfast
- bring lunch (or buy healthy)
- drink lots of water
- no more fast food
- no more soda
- gym at least 3 times
I been pretty good about going shopping lately. Although at times I feel like I am getting withdrawals I am learning to only shop for *mostly* what I need. I passed up a few good items, but it's okay. If it's not there in a later date then it's just not meant to be. These cute heart mocasins were comfy but I have no use for them. I won't wear them outside and I don't wear slippers around the house. Sighs. So cute.
And of course food food food. YUM. Went to OC Restaurant week with my sister to Bluewater Grill. 3 Course Meal for $20. Not bad. I was pretty much stuffed and totally forgot I had dessert. And of course some random food days. Yummy bentos and ice cream!
